For years
people have been aware of Keith Stubbs' natural ability to make people
laugh. Stubbs, a native of South Carolina, set aside a career as a
stock broker with PaineWebber in 1991 to officially begin to
fulfilling his dream of being a stand-up comedian. Within two years of
first taking the stage in Los Angeles, Keith had performed twice on
A&E's "An Evening at the Improv" and Comedy Central.
Keith then hit the road and began performing at comedy clubs from
coast to coast and nearly everywhere in between for an average of 48
weeks out of the year. Now a resident of Salt Lake City, Stubbs was
recently named Best Comedian by The City Weekly and Funniest Comedian
by The Standard-Examiner newspapers and was also a semi-finalist in
Comedy Central's 2003 Laugh Riots comedy competition. He was selected
to compete in both the 2004 Boston International Comedy Festival, FunnyFest and Calgary's Comedy Festival.
Stubbs is known for his topical material delivered with rapid-fire
speed that keeps the audiences laughing. He's gained loyal fans for
his thought-provoking jabs at celebrities and people in the news.
There's always something new when Stubbs hits the stage. Not only is
Keith a true professional in language and subject matter, but also an
excellent writer performing all his own material. When headlining two
shows back-to-back he often has audience members from the first show
stay over for the second show.
Comedy isn't Keith's only strength - he is also an accomplished
musician and actor. He has received acclaim and awards for his acting
roles in theatrical productions, including Best Actor for his
portrayal as Vinnie Black in the comedy musical Tony 'n Tina's
Wedding. |
